Market research and consultancy company China Research Intelligence indicates in its ‘Research Report of the Chinese Valve Industry’ for 2009 that, over the past 20 years, the number of valves enterprises in China has reached about 6 000 and is ranked first in the world.
There are also 900 enterprises, where REDUCING VALVES individual yearly output value exceeds RMB5-million. Today, more than ten varie- ties of valve products are produced, such as gate valves, stop valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, safety valves, check valves, throttle valves, plug valves, reducing valves, diaphragm valves, draining valves, emer- gency and shut valves.
Valves are an essential piece of control equipment for many sectors in China, such as oil, chemistry, nuclear and astronavi- gation, and are used WATER POWER CONTROL VALVE in many environments, such as offshore oil extraction, power stations and shipbuilding.
Supported by government policies, it was reported that the Chinese valves industry would see an uptrend in 2009 and it was predicted that the total sales of China’s valves industry would reach RMB6,736-billion, with export value reaching $2,009-billion and import value $3,632-billion.
This year, China’s yearly business volume in the valves industry has reached about RMB50-billion. According to the eleventh five-year plan, which is a series of economic development initiatives over a five-year period and the eleventh covering the years 2006 to 2010, there is a big gap between China’s valves enterprises and interna- tionally advanced enterprises in the area of energy saving, environment FORGED STEEL VALVES protection, safety and sustainable strategies.
The report says that China’s valves enter- prises are characterised by small-scale technology and weak competitiveness, which not only reduces the overall quality level of China’s valves industry, but also hinders healthy development and its future growth. Integration and restructuring are currently an inevitable progress for China’s valves industry.
It is only by widely integrating fine assets and rapidly establishing powerful groups that famous brand products can lead in the marketplace and demand for high- end products on China’s market can be completely met.
It is predicted that the total valves demand in China will reach RMB34,5-billion during this eleventh five-year plan. China’s valves industry is also expected to further develop new valve products, which serve major projects, such as thermal power, nuclear power, hydroelectric power, oil and natu- ral gas pipelines, coal liquefaction and metallurgy.hap
